This is a place to lay out plans for the next revision of the Zumy robot.
Zumy "revisions" are labeled around revisions of the electronics carrier board, which is currently on Rev D.
Doable goals
These are do-able goals that should all be hit before revising to rev E.
Electrical
- Low-height headers for all modules
- Change carrier board motor+enc connector to JST to match desired AliBaba motors.
- Reference USB cabling; seek out super short USB cables (custom?)
- Carrier board mount for camera mount (can be cut off in panel)
Mechanical
- Motors from AliBaba supplier: $14/piece with magnetic encoder and wiring already installed.
- Better solution for battery. Thinner, to fit in Zumo compartment?
- Carrier board mount for camera mount (can be cut off in panel)
- ODroid webcam, design 3D printed mount.
Stretch goals
Electrical
- New mbed board, something like: http://developer.mbed.org/platforms/TG-LPC11U35-501/
- Different DC-DC module (custom?)
- Super-stretch: Custom mbed compliant board
Mechanical
- Simple laser cut chassis OR 3D printed chassis
- Zumy parts kit then replaced by motors + motor clamps
- Better battery mounting
